Steven A. Odell
Steve Odell has been a leader in the insurance business for over 35 years and has worked in just about every capacity—from risk management consulting to sales and sales management and various leadership positions. As Chief Executive Officer, Steve leads the execution of the company’s strategy and ongoing transformation and has overall responsibility for all operational and sales matters of the firm.
Prior to launching Odell Studner, Steve was Chief Executive Officer of LyonsOdell and held executive and leadership positions with the Clair Odell Group, which he subsequently sold with his partners to Mellon Bank in 1998. Throughout his career, he has served on numerous advisory boards and councils. These include the Advisory Board of the Certification Institute, created by the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO) to assist in credentialing PEOs for their commitment to risk management in regard to workers’ compensation; the American Staffing Association’s (ASA) Staffing Industry Advisory Council on Workers’ Compensation Risk Management; Wausau’s National Broker Council; Liberty Mutual’s National Broker Council; and AIG’s Eastern Regional Broker Council. Steve was also a member of Vistage, an international CEO group.
In addition to his executive duties, Steve successfully created Temporary Staffing and Captives Practice Groups within Odell Studner. Today, these groups meet the risk manangement and insurance needs of over 150 companies throughout the U.S. As a leading expert in these arenas, Steve continuously authors articles and speaks on industry-specific issues that impact the bottom line of middle-market companies.
Steve graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Since 1983, he has been a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). The Society of Certified Insurance Counselors honored him in 2008 for his 25 years of leadership and commitment to continuing education and professionalism.
