To fuel our growth, we are now looking to hire a Workers’ Compensation Claims Consultant /Senior Claims Consultant. This position will act as Workers’ Compensation Client Advocate and Claim Resource to ensure exceptional claim service to all internal and external customers while promoting our corporate new business, retention, and profitability initiatives.
(Note: “Senior” is reflective of enhanced level of strategic responsibility, greater years of experience, etc.)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist clients with targeted claim reporting
- Create and maintain active diary on targeted claims
- Act as liaison between Client, carrier and involved business partners
- Provide technical consultative advice, insight, and direction
- Provide status updates as appropriate
- Conduct and/or coordinate claim reviews as established by Service Teams and Claims
- Develop, implement, and monitor customized Claim Service Plans as required
- Provide contract interpretation and analysis as it relates to available coverages
- Assist with Client claim issues, concerns and problem
- Act as client advocate
- Develop and/or facilitate customized internal/external training programs
- Provide technical/service training to internal and external customers

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- College Degree or the recognized equivalent in education and experience, preferred
- Minimum 5+ years’ hands-on claim experience in Workers’ Compensation
- Strong knowledge of coverages and contract interpretation/application
- Knowledge of laws, processes and procedures associated with claims management
- Producer’s license preferred, but not required
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
- Applied Epic or similar agency management software experience, preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work with minimum supervision; able to accept direction on given assignments.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Excellent phone etiquette, written & verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated superior presentation and relationship skills in this highly client interactive role.
- Able to work effectively in a team environment with strong customer service skills.
- Ability to travel regionally for client visits.
- Broker experience is preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of all basic P&C coverages with a focus on Property, General Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, and Professional Liability.
